The quickest way to reach us

WhatsApp on +91 9799214855 is usually the fastest option. It lets us share photos, locations and written quotes in one conversation, and you keep a record of what was agreed. You can also call the same number, or email desertholidaysandcamp@gmail.com for longer requests.

What to include in your enquiry

The more we know, the more useful our first reply will be. Try to include:

• Your travel dates, or a range if you are flexible
• The number of adults and children, with children's ages
• How you are arriving in Jaisalmer: train, flight or road
• What you would like to do: camp, safari, sightseeing, transfers
• Your preferred vehicle size or amount of luggage
• Any dietary needs, mobility needs or special occasions
• A rough budget, if you have one

What happens after you send it

We reply with a suggested plan and a quote that lists what is included. If anything is unclear, we may ask a question or two first. You can ask for changes as many times as you need. Once you confirm, we share the final details, including pickup times and your driver's contact number, before your trip.

Finding the office

The office is on Fort Road, opposite Fort Parking, in the Dhibba Para and Manak Chowk area below Jaisalmer Fort. The full address is Fort Rd, opp. Fort Parking, Dhibba Para, Manak Chowk, Amar Sagar Pol, Jaisalmer Muncipal Area, Rajasthan 345001.

If you are walking from the fort, head down toward the main parking area at the base of the fort; the office is across the road from it. Use the Google Maps link on this page for exact directions.

Coming from the railway station

The station is on the eastern side of the city. An auto-rickshaw or taxi to Fort Road takes a short time depending on traffic. If you would rather be met, send us your train details and we will arrange a pickup.

Coming from the airport

Jaisalmer airport lies outside the city, and flights are limited. If you are flying in, share your flight number and we can arrange a car to meet you and take you to your hotel, camp or our office.

Coming from Jodhpur or other cities

Many travellers reach Jaisalmer by road from Jodhpur, roughly 285 km away. If you would like us to arrange the drive, tell us your pickup point and preferred start time. For other cities, see the outstation section on our taxi services page.

Visiting in person

You are welcome to visit the office to discuss plans. To make the most of your visit, message us beforehand with your dates so we can have options ready. Walk-in plans for the same day depend on availability.

Changes on the day

If a train is delayed, a flight changes or you need to adjust a pickup time, call or WhatsApp us as soon as you know. Your driver's number is also shared with you before the trip, so you can contact them directly.

Email for detailed requests

For group bookings, events, or itineraries with many parts, email can be easier. Send the details to desertholidaysandcamp@gmail.com and include a phone number so we can follow up on WhatsApp if needed.

Best times to message

You can send a WhatsApp message at any time. Replies are usually quickest during the day. If you are messaging late at night or early in the morning, we will reply as soon as we can. For anything urgent on the day of travel, a phone call is best.

Messaging from outside India

If you are abroad, WhatsApp and email are the simplest ways to reach us, since they avoid international call charges. Include your country code when you share your number so we can reply. If you are calling from outside India, dial +91 before 9799214855.

Enquiring for someone else

Many bookings are made by one person on behalf of a family or group, or by a friend who has visited Jaisalmer before. That is fine. Please share the lead traveller's name and phone number so we can contact them on the day if needed, and make sure they have our number too.

Sharing your location

If you are already in Jaisalmer and need a pickup, the easiest way is to share your live location on WhatsApp. This helps your driver find you quickly, especially in the old city, where lanes can be confusing and hotel names are sometimes similar.

Parking and access near the office

The office is across the road from the Fort Parking area, which makes it easy to find if you are arriving by car. Old-city lanes nearby are narrow and busy at peak times, so if you are coming by car, it may be simpler to park and walk the last short stretch.

Using the enquiry form

The form on this page collects your name, phone number, travel date, number of travellers, service and a message, then opens WhatsApp with those details filled in. You just need to press send. If WhatsApp does not open on your device, call or email us with the same details instead.

Nothing is booked when you send the form; it simply starts the conversation.

Your information

The details you share are used to reply to your enquiry and to arrange your trip. Only share what is needed for planning, such as names, contact numbers, dates and any relevant needs.

After your trip

If you have feedback after travelling with us, we would like to hear it. Send a message on WhatsApp or an email. If something did not go as planned, telling us helps us improve arrangements for the next traveller.

Planning a group or event

For weddings, corporate groups, school trips or large family gatherings, the more notice you give, the better. Send us the approximate group size, dates, and a list of what you need: transfers, sightseeing, camp nights, safaris or a combination. We will reply with a proposal and ask any questions needed to firm up numbers.

For large groups, we may suggest splitting activities into smaller batches so everyone has a comfortable experience, particularly for camel rides and sunset viewpoints.

If you cannot reach us

Occasionally, calls may not connect because of network coverage, particularly if you are in the desert. If a call fails, send a WhatsApp message, which will be delivered as soon as signal returns. For urgent matters on the day of travel, try your driver's number as well as ours.

Language

You can write to us in English or Hindi. Keep messages simple and include the key details, such as dates, numbers and places, so nothing is misunderstood.

A checklist before you arrive

A day or two before you travel, it helps to confirm a few things with us.

• Your arrival time and train or flight number
• Your hotel name and location in Jaisalmer
• The pickup time for each part of your trip
• Your driver's name and phone number
• Any last changes to the number of travellers

Sample enquiry message

If you are not sure what to write, here is an example you can adapt: "Hello, we are two adults and one child aged ten, arriving in Jaisalmer by train on the morning of 12 December and leaving on the evening of 14 December. We would like city sightseeing, one night at a desert camp with a camel ride, and station pickup and drop. Please suggest a plan and quote."

A message like this gives us everything we need to reply with a useful first plan.

Booking several services at once

You do not need to send separate enquiries for a taxi, a camp and a safari. One message describing your whole trip is easier for both of us, and lets us coordinate timings between each part. We will send one quote covering everything, itemised so you can see what each part includes.

Before you visit the office

If you plan to visit in person, bring your travel dates, the number of people in your group and any bookings you have already made, such as hotels or trains. This helps us suggest options that fit around your existing plans.
